Forest Bathing at Ickworth Park

A 3 hour nature connection experience in the grounds of Ickworth Park to quieten the mind and awaken the senses.  

Bathing our senses in the woodlands and pathways of the natural world triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the restoration of body, mind and soul.  Quietening our minds isn't something that comes easily to many of us however, and we could spend a whole afternoon outdoors, without really noticing the nature around us as we chat, think or exercise while moving through the countryside.  These guided nature connection immersions help you to really slow down and connect with the nature around you and remember your own true nature in the process.

At the beginning of the session we start by orientating ourselves in time and place as we reflect on the seasonal wheel of the year and consider the energy of Spring, the returning of the lighter days and the emergence of new life.

I will then guide you into some nature connection invitations, to encourage a slower pace and a sense of stillness so that we are able to become fully present in the moment... before leading into sensory invitations to further quieten the mind as we awaken the senses and foster an interactive connection with the nature around us. These invitations really help to calm the mind down and trigger a sense of grounded relaxation.

Once we are fully present and relaxed, I will offer a guided meditation and invite you into a deeper reflective or creative activity. This period can also be taken as a moment to simply bathe and relax in the essence of the nature around you if you prefer.

We will complete by gathering and sharing any reflections of our experience over a small cup of herbal or foraged tea, before heading back into the world, feeling grounded, connected and refreshed.

The investment for this event is £25 for members of the National Trust. Non members will need to bring an additional £10 for entry to Ickworth Park.
